§ 70-45. Penalties.

  • (a)

    Any person under 16 years violating the provisions of this article for the first time shall be given a warning by the chief of police; and the parent, guardian or person having custody, if known, shall be personally notified of such violation by the chief of police or by registered mail.

    (b)

    For a second and each subsequent offense, a person under 16 years of age violating this section shall be dealt with pursuant to Wis. Stats. ch. 48.

    (c)

    Any parent, guardian or person having the custody of a person under the age of 16 years and who has been notified of a first violation by such person of this section shall on second and subsequent violations of this section by such person be subject to penalties as specified in section 1-11, plus costs; and in default of payment of such penalty, the defendant shall be confined in the county jail not to exceed ten days.
